RED tint for my hair?

I have really dark brown hair and i've only highlighted it once

so it's pretty undamaged.

So, I have always wanted to do something more drastic but i get too scared.

And i love the red tint but I'm not sure how it would look.

I have light skin, big brown eyes.

That one time that I got my hair highlighted (now they've all grown out) the hairstylist said i shouldn't do a red tint for some reason..i can't recall.

I would also be willing to go to a salon like gene juarez to be sure it's done right.

So, my ultimate question is, do you think this color would work for me and are there any cons to the red tint look?

THANKS!

Here's some examples of what i like...

RED tint for my hair?

for light skin and big brown eyes, i think red would look awesome.

dont be afraid! i have dyed my hair every color invented!!

the good thing about hair, is you can cut it, shave, dye it, and spike it... but it ALWAYS grows back...

be unique, go for it! :D

RED tint for my hair?

If you're looking to do something different i DONT recommend playing with reds. Red tints DO NOT wash/fade out, so if you happened to not like it you would have to wait for the red to grow out. Yes you can dye over it however there will still be a tint of red.

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

I used to bleach blonde my hair in high school then after that for four years I decided to go brunette, the only problem is I can never achieve the color I want because some"red" always comes out and makes my hair auburn. I just want to be able to dye my hair and it stay a nice chocolate brown without turning to auburn red or even mahogany. Any suggestions on what to tell my salon or what I can use to end these results??

Thanks!

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

get an ash base color then u won't have red u are choosing shades with a red or violet base that is why u keep coming up with red in ur hair

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

make sure the base color is not violet or any type of reds..try it with blue base color. it should say it in the box or bottle.

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

An Ash toner will correct the red

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

ash will counteract the red, but will not give you "chocolate brown" so use ash now to correct your hair color, but in the future, use neutral to get your desired results.

Dying my hair without the red color coming through.?

Yes..use an "ash" colored base

What ACTUALLY is your level and tone? Not to get caught up on terminology, but "Chocolate" brown IS a warm tone. Usually the underlying tone is gold. If the unwanted warmth is seen immediately it is the formulation and processing that is off. If it showing up later it is aftercare and possibly developers. What type of product is being used? How is it processed? If you want a true level 5 with no warmth, I can suggest a Wella Kolestan color. They offer a true, cool brown on that level of darkness. Make sure your colorist is properly coloring your regrowth and your mid-ends. If you have grey or are lightening to this level the regrowth can be done with a permanent color, otherwise only a semi-perm is needed. The mid-ends should always be touched up with a semi-perm. Do not shampoo your hair again once color is removed for 24-28 hours. Use only color safe or cool toned, brown shampoo. Try Artec color depositing shampoo, start alternating it in after the color starts to lighten. Limit time in sun and tanning beds. Best of luck.

What are the steps to bleach my hair, into a blonde, or dark red colour?

i want to bleach my hair and i want it to look blonde, or a dark red colour, and in the back, so the back of my hair looks dark red or blonde. what are the steps to do this?

What are the steps to bleach my hair, into a blonde, or dark red colour?

blonde, umm don't try blonde at home, unless you have already blondish hair.

for dark red:

1) buy any blonding or bleaching kit from the drugstore, (i recommend frost and tip) buy two boxes

2) dont wash your hair for at lest 48 hours to protect your scalp

3) do an allergy and strand test to figure out how many minutes you should leave it in,(it'll tell you how to do those in your instructions) if not then just try 30-40 minutes in your hair

4) put the bleaching solution in for 30-40 minutes or however you wanted based on your strand test

5) rinse it out, it will be a weird orangish color but not light enough to put in the dark red without a weird orange color.

6) DO NOT i repeat DO NOT put on any conditioner that comes with the boxes you can use it after this process is done as it coats your hair temporarily

7) wait a few hours and put in another bleaching solution (can be the same brand)

8) purchase the darkest red hair color you can find that's not auburn

9) put your gloves on and mix up the dye then apply in your hair for about 30 minutes

10) rinse it all from your hair but do not shampoo just yet, your hair cuticle is still open and prone to color loss

11) condition with any conditioner from the hair dye package

12) enjoy your new color!

hope this helped and good luck!
