I've learn that the stereotype of the volatile, fiery redhead is not a complete truth, but not too far away from it either.
I work in a primary school, and we have a few redheaded children, some are very laid back, some are very mature for their age, but a very few follow the stereotype, but boy! do they follow it!!
I suspect there must be a gene that only happens in a minority of redheads, but that's just my opinion.
