What is the domninate one: blue eyes or brown eyes and brown hair or red hair? Thanks?

Eye color and hair color are polygenic traits- they rely on many different alleles to determine their phenotype.

Hair color- The more dominant alleles, the darker the hair color is. Red hair has NO dominant alleles. Blonde has two dominant alleles and the rest are recessive. Brown hair has all dominant alleles except for two(I'm fairly certain).

Eye color has four different alleles- Different combinations make different colored eyes. The darkest eyes have the most dominant alleles and the lighter eyes have more recessive alleles.

So technically, you could say the darker colors are more dominant because they have more dominant alleles, but it really has nothing to do with one allele 'masking' the effect of the other like it would with a typical Mendelian trait.

There's really no simple answer to your question because there's no true 'dominant' trait. But the darker it is, the MORE dominant it is.

Brown eyes and brown hair are dominant, I believe........

Brown is the dominant on each.

brown and brown

brown all the way!

What is the domninate one: blue eyes or brown eyes and brown hair or red hair? Thanks?

Brown over blue eyes, and brown hair over red hair, but depending on parents if both parents are blue eyes the baby has a better chance having blue eyes. The same with hair color.

No, trust me it's Brown Eyes and Red hair.

brown eyes, as a matter of fact, like in white Siamese cats (blue cross-eyed) the blue eyes show signs of recessive trait and defect, many are deaf, have hemophilia, and plane goofy, but i have one white cat like that, not true Siamese, he's all white (no black tips) got a bit of a high thyroid problem (on meds), but very affectionate and friendly : )

you noticed Britney Spears has brown eyes, but sometimes on magazines blue, those are good contacts she got, don't look fake, read her eyes really brown, he he

Brown eyes are definitely dominant over blue. I believe that brown hair is dominant over red. There are actually multiple genes that determine these traits. Here is a great website for more information:

brown eyes are dominant. Its a pigment that is basically absent in blue/green/grey eyes, although there are other "modifier" genes that also affect eye colour.

Hair colour is an amount of pigment. Black has the most pigment and red has no pigment (so red is recessive and black is dominant), but borwn hair and blonde hair has lesser amounts of the pigment...and I think hair colour also is like skin colour where different genotype combinations give differnet colours (and there also maybe other genes involved that allows you to get a greater range of colours)
